Parents and teachers at Highland View Middle School literally unpaved a section in a courtyard, breaking up a sidewalk that ran almost the entire length of the courtyard - jackhammers and everything! The students planned and planted the area. One section is mostly natives with a variety of trees and bushes. A smaller section is a butterfly garden. The projet took place throughout the 1999-2000 school year but the biggest changes outside were in April and May 2000.
