Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Greetings to you all,
I have been following the most recent media coverage on the research from Iowa State University and Dr. Karen's study on BT corn and effects on the monarch. My friends and students know of my devotion to the monarch and have also reviewed the news and shared their thoughts. Cool Huh!
I teach in a K-4 emvironmental learning elementary school. We study, raise and release local monarchs. I have a plot near the school where we collect our native monarchs and have requested no spraying or mowing. Last week I checked this area and saw only two caterpillers, odd as we usually have more in this small, but plentiful plot. Well, yesterday I went to check the area again.
I could not find any evidence of the caterpillers from last week and only found one. I took it into the school in my specially constricted show box to observe. The caterpiller wasn't acting right. Later I found the fatal evidence of death and was so concerned. What I have concluded is...we have had some
