Travel Advisory for Monarchs
Having recently traveled along Interstates 35 and 40 I thought monarchs checking this sight before heading south would appreciate a vegetation update. Store up in Minnesota and Wisconsin before heading south. Vegetation is limited to grasses and some goldrenrod along 35 through Iowa. It gets worse in Missouri, where all vegetation along the highway has been cut. It was obvious that the monarchs are not traveling 35 as I sighten none throughout the state. There is temporary relief in Arkansas, where wild flowers and vegetation are thick in the northern half of the state. In the southern half is extremenly dry but in wooded areas vegetation is available. Good luck, I suggest taking other routes as you travel south.

Good News for Bluebirds
Accommodations are still available ( bird houses) on the backs of Interstate highway signs throughout the sta
