It has been difficult for many people to find larva this year. There are also very few milkweed flowers or pods in many milkweed patches. The locations where I have found larva are in swails or low patches that may have had more moisture during the dry weeks of July/August. We have hatched 1 monarch in our 5th grade classroom. It hatched and was release in the school butterfly garden Friday, Aug. 25, 2000. We have two more to hatch next week.
