Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/02/2000

Number: 1

The last week in August I happened to find a few Monarch eggs. The eggs hatched on Sept. 2nd. The Caterpillars should be in a Chrysalis by this weekend. This is one of the latest broods of Monarchs that I've had. (I've been collecting eggs to raise and release for over 20 years now). Based on what I've experienced in the past, this means we should have some warmer weather around here towards the time the caterpillars emerge-sounds weird but it's been true so far!
