We are seeing an increase in numbers of monarchs in our area recently. While playing on our playground at recess at noon today we saw four flying around. (That's about a 15 minute period of time.) Right outside our classroom we've planted a butterfly garden. Our window faces the garden. Our lessons are frequently interrupted with a statement such as, "Ooh. I saw a monarch!" We'll be counting them more accurately starting next week. At a town about 12 miles away I saw branches full of monarchs yesterday evening.
