The third grade classes released 30 tagged monarchs at McKnight Elementary School. These monarchs were collected as caterpillars near Marienville PA the weekend of August 26. It was a beautiful sunny day with temperatures in the mid 70's. Many of the monarchs soared high in the sky immediately while others clung to butterfly bushed in the Wonder Garden at McKnight Elementary. Later this evening rain and cooler temperatures arrived. I hope our butterflies got a good start.
