As my 4th grade class released 3 Monarch butterflies that emerged this morning, we observed 3 other Monarchs flying through the school yard. We were able to chase them to see that they appeared to be untagged but that was an observation made on the run and from a bit of a distance. They were flying in a southwest direction. Over the past two weeks we have been tagging (Monarch Watch tags) and releasing the Monarchs that we "raised" from eggs.
