I am working with monarchs across Georgia incorporating journey north, monarch watch and monarchs in the classroom to reach more citizens as well as school youth. Monarchs across Georgia is a program as a part of in-step---the partnership of the Toccoa-Stephens county chamber of commerce and the Stephens County school system. Through this program, the state botanical gardens in Athens and the ga eea many formal and non-formal educators have been trained in monarchs in the classroom. All are excited about the potential of studying the monarch and habitat restoration.
I'm very excited to have tagged monarchs this week in what seems to be the beginning of the fall migration in Toccoa.
