While hiking with friends on the Ice Age Trail, we found a fresh, new Monarch clinging to some asters. He hadn't quite developed the knack for flying and fluttered low to the ground. The day was cool and he seemed to prefer sunny basking spots. Today, Sept. 26th, we have a high pressure area over us again and I wonder if he has caught the wind currents south.
