Signs of Fall

Date: 10/04/2000

Number: 1

We saw a flock of migratory robins. They used their distinct chirp chirp call, no songs, just the single note. They were very, very jumpy, moving from branch to branch, and fluid as a group, like a wave washing from tree to tree. The group never settled. We get the definite feeling we're saying goodbye to this species for the year, at least to all but the few over-winterers.
