Greetings from a TX wildscape in Hidalgo county!

Over the past three years our yard has grown to include over 50 varieties of ornamental and native plants(more native than ornamental), all of which benefit wildlife by providing food, shelter, shade. We also have a bird bath that we made.

Unpaving the way for wildlife is not difficult, and the rewards greatly outway the work. Last year our native sunflowers attracted lesser goldfinches: we watched the parents and 4 fledgelings mature while they feasted on plants outside our window. We also have a variety of birds and butterflies migrate through (our favorites are the hummingbirds and monarchs).
