Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/05/2000

Number: 1

I have to tell everyone about the monarch sighting today at the same drainage ditch 1/2 block from my school. At least 400-500 monarchs lined the graffiti marked walls of the underground area of the ditch. It was remarkable how nature was able to disguise the scourge of many neighborhoods, if only for a short while. I also learned a bit of history about this site. The monarchs have been coming to this spot since 1965, after the ditch was put in.
Roosting monarchs: 400-500 Time: 2:45pm Temp: 91 Wind: Southwest 16mph. I'm hooked!!! Janet
