Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/06/2000

Number: 1

About 2:30 on Thursday afternoon October 5th our Montessori elementary students released our second monarch butterfly. The day before it had been unwilling to fly out the window when we released our other butterfly. It had just emerged from the chrysalis an hour before. A cold wind was blowing when it flew out. This is the last monarch we have seen at our school.
The caterpillars werebrought inside on milkweed on September 17th. They became chrysalises on the 21 and 22 of September.
