Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/10/2000

Number: 1

We were driving from Longhorn Caverns on Park Road 4 to Hwy 29, through Burnet, and back to Liberty Hill. All along the way, monarchs were flying across the roads. Most were very large butterflies in groups of 3 - 5. There were some loners and several groups of a dozen or so. We saw 40 to 50 groups, so around 150 - 200 monarchs in all. It was hard to see any details or really enjoy their beauty as we were driving along at 65 mph. It was amazing though and made us think about God's creativity and His ultimate plan for all life!
