Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/18/2000

Number: 1

My first sighting of the journey south, today at 6:30 PM as I was leaving my office I spotted few Monarchs circling around a couple of Cottonwoods (Alamos) like inspecting for perching or for flowers. After a few turns took off flying southwest. Weather conditions we have and advancing front from Texas, we had rains in the early morning and have overcast skies, forecast for rains on next couple of days. Slow to moderate winds from NE, RH of 70 %. Area of sighting is NE of Monterrey, by the airport area.
