My fourth graders and Mrs. Richardson's second graders planted their tulips on November 17th. Unfortunately our weather changed and today was much colder than yesterday. The temperature dropped 5 degrees and the wind got a little colder. Our thermometer showed the temperature was about 37 degrees Fahrenheit (only 5 degrees away from freezing). We had planned on planting our bulbs yesterday afternoon but a cold, freezing rain made it too nasty for planting. We were glad the weather clear up and we could plant our bulbs today. Goodbye tulips --see you next spring.
