All four of our fourth grade classes planted our tulips on a cold sunny day. We spent a lot of time hacking away at the partially frozen soil! We thought we were one of the "warmer" zones, but this winter has been very cold for us. We couldn't plant our tulips as deeply as we should because of the soil, so we covered them with a very deep layer of mulch. We hope they will bloom. Our teacher thinks we should have planted them in November. Did we plant them at the right time? I guess we'll find out!
