All through the winter I have seen an occasional robin in Central Park, but this morning I saw a large group clustered in a large shrub or small tree. There were at least 25 birds, perhaps more. The temperature then, at about 8:45 A.M. was near freezing, but there was no wind, and the sun was bright. There were high scattered clouds. The birds were puffed up with their breasts facing the sun. I am not a regular robin watcher, but participate in the monarch watch. Hope this data is useful to you. This seems early for a group of robins to be in Central Park.
