I am visiting in Minneaplis this winter. Today I heard the Cardinals calling. They are here all year, but are silent in the fall and winter. To hear their whistle is always a sign of spring to me. They seem to start when the light begins to noticably change. Does anyone know if the longer day is a trigger for them?
