From a county birder at Port O'Connor, Calhoun County, Texas: "2 male Purple Martin scouts checked out a set of martin houses early this morning but after a few short minutes continued on northward." She also reported a birding friend in Port Lavaca had a nice assortment of 2 male Rufous Hummingbirds, at least two Ruby-throateds, and one Buff-bellied. We have had a few feeders out all winter for hummers that overwintered here along the bay ... we observed a male Rufous and a Buff-bellied visiting them this week. Fields are being prep'ed for early planting.
