Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 01/30/2001

Number: 1

I live in the Sandhills of northcentral NE. We have robins
that overwinter here in the Niobrara River drainage. That includes the many deep valleys with creeks that run in from the south of the river.
I have a hunch that the Robins that stayed here feasting on the berries of the red cedars are probably Canadian Robins. Our Robins which will arrive here in the "upland" town of Bassett will be the true migrants for us. Don't know how you will report this on you migration website unless you list it as "partial migrants". Meaning that these are the
northern overwinterers so that they will have less distance to migrate to get back to their northern nesting areas.
