A common shade tree in south Texas yards, the Arizonia Ash, has just begun to leaf-out in Victoria. The trees had a dull glow of green on Saturday and upon checking the first four leaves could be seen. A few other varieties of trees have buds and some fruit trees are blooming but the Ash is the first we have seen actually leafing-out. Thursday the first Purple Martin "scouts" were seen in the area ... two males at Port O'Connor.
