On 2/11/2001, I went to Moya Park, started at the most eastern end of the park--no robins till I arrived at the western end where robins were everywhere--in the trees and bushes, flying, on the ground, traveling on the ground. Lots more general calling, song, and miscellaneous (that part song they do more often than finish the song). The flights seemed to be "impulsive"; that is, they seemed to be moving to be moving. Also, groups would move. I could not count by sectioning the geography; they changed so fast. I have to believe this moving was their doing, because my dog and I were the only ones in the park, and we stood stock still. I am going to estimate some 200 at the least. If you have suggestions re counting, please let me know. I tried all the techniques I learned from other bird counts, but nothing worked. These robins were so hyper!
