Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 01/12/2001

Number: 1

Increasing flock sizes noted. Always seen along bayous and school grounds. They seem prefer mowed grass in this area. Feeding behavior suggests foraging for worms or grubs.

Birds are very plump. I do not recall in the past 10 years seeing so many, so hungry and for this much time in the Gulf Coast region of Texas. usually they are gone by now, spending only about 2 weeks here, from early January to 3rd week or so.
