We were very excited to find that our tulip bulbs had emerged. We have been keeping the soil temperature since September and it has remained above freezing. The air temperature for the last two weeks has been over 40 degrees. We looked at the Journey North Archives and found that the tulips in our garden emerged at about this same date in 1998 and 2000, but in 1999 they emerged in January and didn't bloom until the end of March. We predict that our tulips this year will bloom about March 21.
