Subject: Dunnville and red-winged blackbirds

Feb. 20, A flock of 15 red-winged blackbirds were cher-reing just north of Dunnville. Although red-wings can be seen through the winter, here and there, the singing of the males is as good an indication as I need that spring is coming to Southern Ontario.
Dunnville is located about 10 km. north of Lake Erie and is situated along the Grand River. Large marshes along the river provide excellent
roosting sites for blackbirds.
