Over the past few days the numbers of robins anywhere have lessened considerably. No more huge numbers; they are appearing singly or in numbers less than 10. Occasionally a song is heard, usually at some distance away. These conditions are occuring at both sites where I walk with the dog. Robins are in the city, in fact in my neighborhood. I hear and see them.
I will say that last Saturday I went to a wetlands area called Hornsby Bend, perhaps 10-15 miles due east of Austin. Robins covered the woodland adjacent to the wetlands. You could hear and see them. They were actively interacting with one another and other birds--or so it seemed.
