Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 02/15/2001

Number: 1

We have seen one or two monarchs in the garden every day
for the last couple of weeks. The first monarchs looked
rather old and worn. The wings of the monarchs we see now
look bright and new.
I observed a female laying eggs on several of the milk weeds.
The children water the garden at noon every day. The water
seems to attract the butterflies. They are very friendly and
aren't afraid of the children.
We hope to have caterpillars soon.
