Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 02/23/2001

Number: 1

I haven't heard any Robins singing since I heard one a couple of weeks ago. I'm in Lutz (Tampa area) now and there are
still Robins flying around here. They feed on holly berries and other fruits from trees like cherry laurels and camphor trees in the winter down here. Some of the hollies still have berries, and there are berries on catbrier vines, which they also eat.

We were in Quitman, GA last week and we still had lots of Robins there, too. The ones I saw there on the farm were out in the burned off hayfields all day long. I assume they are eating insects and seeds, because there aren't any berries out there.
