Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 02/23/2001

Number: 1

Well at my feeders (which folks tell me is one of the best feeding stations in the state-- I have it arranged so that it borders a heavy thicket, and I keep feed there through all seasons,in the past I've had Clay colored sparrow, winter Eastern Towhees, Vesper sparrows, RN Pheasents etc, etc,), I'm the caretaker and a 40 hour full time Property assistant of a 500 acre Grassland Wildlife Sanctuary, owned, operated and managed by the Massachusetts Audubon Society, the Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary in Marshfield, MA.
Today there were 60 plus AMRO this late afternoon 520 pm, in bright plumage, definite breeding birds coming in.
They were singing up a storm. The winter AMRO never came to the feeders, they mainly ate berries/natural food, these AMRO were gorging themselves on seeds. they're back !
I'll keep you more informed over the next few days.
