Subject: Spring Migrants at Rondeau
This winter, after all the cold weather is just like any other winter.
The first real warm blast of air and strong southerly winds almost for
certain bring returning waterfowl and today was no different.
Today in the Rondeau (mainly Erieau) area were:
Gadwall -- 4 - 2 pairs in immaculate plumage - record early for Rondeau
American Wigeon --3 - 2 males, 1 female - record early for Rondeau
Ring-necked Duck --4 - all males - presumably from Detroit or St. Clair
rivers
Tundra Swan -- 10 - first since about 2 weeks ago.
There were many other waterfowl but these were the highlites . I think we
went from 5 to 14 species of ducks in 1 day. Other than 1 Pintail, 1
Coot, and 3 Tundra Swans about 2 weeks ago all just after Alan's, there
has been nothi
