On Sunday, February 4, 2001, Mary and Gene and I tapped the Red Maple trees in the Hollywood Elementary School Sugar Bush. We tapped 11 trees this year. It was a windy day, but we were down the hill from the playground and out of the wind.
February 9, 2001 Our class went down to the sugar bush for the first time this year. We harvested sap. Tree number 1=8cups, #2=3c. #3=a trace[T] #4=7c. #5=8c. #6=T #7=1 1/2c
#8= 4 1/2c #9=7c. #10=1c. #11=T Total collected was 40cups.
We will estimate how much we will get from each tree before the run is over.
