May Wilson of Brighton, Ontario reports seeing her first male red-winged blackbird on February 27, 2001. May is past president of the Presqu'ile-Brighton Naturalists and goes birdwatching at nearby Presqu'ile Provincial Park almost daily. This bird was seen at her home bird feeder, located just west of the park on Lakeshore Road and just a few feet north of the shoreline of Lake Ontario.
