Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 03/03/2001

Number: 1

Today, Saturday, I went birding with my usual group. We spent about an hour
at our "hawk-watch" site adjacent to Lake Michigan in Indiana. While the
hawks weren't moving, other species were. We tallied 33 American Robins
flying by. These birds were NOT on territory. They were migrants that
follow the shoreline of Lake Michigan.

Friday I heard one Am. Robin in my neighborhood. It may have been on
territory, but it was NOT singing. It was giving an alarm chip. I have NOT
heard any Am. Robins singing their typical song to date. Therefore, I
cannot confirm that they are on territory only that they are arriving in the
area.
