Maple Syrup (FIRST Sap Run)

Date: 03/07/2001

Number: 1

Every spring we break the tips of a few of the branches of our giant sugar maples. Then, under perfect conditions, the sap begins to run and freezes into the most delicious icicles you ever had in your life. We had two of these yesterday. Yum... Native Americans had these as springtime treats. So, sap is beginning to run, and yet it's still cold enough for it to freeze.
