We were on vacation last week, and noted that new residents have appeared: the redwing blackbirds are now back in some numbers, and around the swamps, we can see them perched on cattails or tall weeds. We hear them quite frequently, whenever we pass the marshlands. They are not just in one swamp, but swamps across the county.
