this year has been an unusual year for robins in west virginia. all birders here agree they have not seen such large flocks for many years. my yard, which supports about 4-6 breeding pair has had anywhere from 24-75 robins all winter, and the area has hundreds, if not thousands anywhere you care to look. the flocks have not broken up yet, and noone i've spoken to has heard them singing on territory yet (in wv).
