The flocks of robins seem to be much smaller--it seems like many have left. The mockingbirds are back and singing loudly from the tops of their respective trees; this time of year the males seem to sing all day and all night. Crows are beginning to carry nesting material (twigs, etc.) I saw a small group of robins with a group of cedar waxwings, who apparently are migrating through today. Today I also say my first tulips blooming in a yard and first California poppies blooming on our hills. Maybe the robins leave our area when the tulips and poppies start blooming. The temperature has been 70 degrees in the day and 40 degrees at night, considerably warmer that the 40-50 degree weather a couple weeks ago.
