My wife and I spent Friday night, March 9, at DeGray Lake State Park in
Bismarck, Arkansas (southwest of Little Rock). We took a "bird walk" around the
lake shore early Saturday morning and saw a number of common loons -- at least
six -- at close range AND heard them calling. I have no idea when they arrived
at DeGray, but they were there.
