The red-winged blackbirds nest in an old pond bed behind my porperty, so I have been watching for them. Had read they were being seen 30 mi. S. Saw the first one this a.m. gobbling up cracked corn from the ground. Last spring, they were here approx.3 weeks earlier. The grackles preceded them by a couple of days----saw the first grackle 3/17.
