Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/15/2001

Number: 1

Good news- a flock of red-winged blackbirds was first seen at Presqu'ile Provincial Park, in Brighton Ontario in the marsh boardwalk area by the park naturalist, Don Tyreman. I spoke with Don last weekend at the Waterfowl Viewing Weekend at the park. Don said the flock was quite large and very vocal! Presqu'ile Park is on the north shore of Lake Ontario and it is a very popular migration rest stop for birds and butterflies.
