Today the temperature hit 8 degrees Celsius in Whitby Ontario --- 40 km (25m) NE of Toronto, Ontario. This was the warmest day since about Dec 10th. Snow cover dwindled drastically exposing the trash of winter, and major firn fields as yet persistent. The robins have yet to put in an appearance, which demonstrates reassuring intelligence on the part of these underestimated avians, but I shall put my G11 Natural Disasters class (busy though they are with Journey North Mystery Class, which is our major activity) into data collection mode for you.
