The 1st Robin we had, on Jan. 8, was a male. A few days later 2 more showed up in the apple tree. A male and a female. The female took the middle, top of the tree and spent most of her time chasing the males away. I can't figure out when she ate, she was constantly guarding her rotten apples. The males took up positions on either side of her and got a few bites in before she chased them off. I didn't realize how aggressive a female could be, when it came to food.
