Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/21/2001

Number: 1

As I walked out my front door about 8 a.m. I heard the trill of the red winged blackbird. Later in the morning, about 11, I spotted four red wing blackbirds singing away in our front yard cottonwood tree. I was surprised as we still have 14 plus inches of snow on the ground. We are gradually melting with temps in the low 40's. Some ground is bare but we still have lots of snow cover.
