Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 04/05/2001

Number: 1

I reported hearing Robins sing during February, and I did in fact hear them during the day. I assume from over wintering young birds that were practising.

However, this morning at 5:30am a Robin started singing outside my window while it was still dark . You could see the sky was a little lighter to the east, but just. I'm usually awake at this time and this is the first early dawn song I've heard this spring and he was really going to town! A male Cardinal joined him around 5:47am so I had a full chorus in the Maple trees on my property. It was really good to hear!!
