Tulips EMERGED

Date: 04/06/2001

Number: 1

We were beginning to wonder if the deer had really climbed the slope behind the fence and eaten our bulbs. The average daily temperature had only been reported at 40 degrees once in March and only this week on Thursday 4/5 did it get to 43. So when we checked in the rain on Friday, we were most delighted to see 2 barely visible shoots next to their spork (plastic spoon/fork utensils) markers. This week, we will be on vacation and the temperature is forecast to be in the 70's. I hope the tulips don't take off and bloom while we are away!
