Today, 7 April 2001, while birding a familiar area in Falmouth, MA. There were approximately 50 Tree Swallows hawking insects off a body of water named Dutchman's Ditch, I spotted an adult Barn Swallow in with them, I got my Swarovski AT80 scope on the swallow and followed it for about 2 minutes . This is the first Barn Swallow I've seen in 2001 in Massachusetts, and the first reported sighting I've heard of.
Good birding !
