Red Winged Blackbirds:
There are only a few males now but what I really wanted to report was that a male red-winged blackbird overwintered here in Gowganda. He was at the feeder almost every day and ate mostly black oiled sunflower seeds.
It was a very cold winter and I didn't think he would servive but he did.
He began singing about two weeks ago.(( week of the 21st)
I just signed on so I am soory to be late with this report.
