Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/11/2001

Number: 1

I have a Robin nesting in a climbing rosebush trelis about a foot away from where it nested or was hatched last summer. It's a cool nest structure made of stems from last summer's left overs, strips paper from those tear-off strips from pin-fed
paper. And from what I can tell, all of this is attached to a piece of styrofoam and cemented, of course, with Canton's finest clay. It suprises me because when they nested last year, we were away for two weeks and so were my three dogs. Everyone told me that there wouldn't have been a nest if my dogs were home. So much for that theory. I removed the nest last year right after
the birds fledged, so she had to build another one. No eggs yet, but the happy couple were yelling at me from the roof of the shed when I tried to peek.
